The Large Nest in the Commons is finished. People had attached feathers to it and to small nests that were sited in trees along Route One in Point Reyes Station. The small nests were also created by the students at West Marin School during Jane Ingram Allen’s 3-week artist in residency public art project in Pt. Reyes. The project “For the Birds” was sponsored by Gallery Route One, Pt. Reyes Station, CA and the Lucid Art Foundation.

This was the day when we have been installing the small nests in the trees along Route 1. We needed to find a big tree to install a big eagles nest. The small nests were created by the students of West Marin School and visitors to the Commons during Jane Ingram Allen’s 3-week artist in residency public art project in Pt. Reyes. The afternoon wind around the Commons made the handmade paper feathers lift, turn and twist creating interesting patterns. People had attached them to the large nest in the Commons and to small nests that will be sited in trees along Route One in Point Reyes Station.
