Eucalyptus Feathers

Eucalyptus Feathers

These feathers were made from eucalyptus bark. During this project Jane Ingram Allen has used leaves and bark from seven different plants and trees. These include eucalyptus bark, cattail leaves, corn husks, canna lily leaves, willow bark, olive tree bark, and crocosmia leaves . Small nests made by students and volunteers will also be decorated with handmade paper feathers containing seeds in the paper pulp to feel the birds. The nests will be installed in trees along Route One in Point Reyes Station. The public art project “For the Birds” is sponsored by Gallery Route One and Lucid Art Foundation.
