Wow! Really nicely done!
Victor, thank you. The P-38 has the double tail and shooting from the center of the horizontal stabilizer toward the cockpit seemed to give it a new perspective.
You are welcome. Did you take it and edit it yourself?
Yes, It took awhile until I got what I wanted – both from taking the image to doing the postproduction. I did use a solarizing filter. Thank you for your follow up questions.
aha. Yes. Just order a polarisation filter for my 77mm lens. Waiting in exitement! 🙂
They are good to have. I’ve found mine to be a bit difficult to use. Maybe I should look at some instructions. lol Good luck with your when it comes.
Ok. yes. well there is other types that are just grey. What kind do you have?
I have the one where you rotate the filter to change the polarization. It is good for flairs and reducing reflections from glass covered art work.
You maybe talking about the filter that you cannot see through when mounted to your lens. Leanne Cole featured one of her daily posts on that filter. Here is her blog address. http://leannecolephotography.com
no, well, I bought one that you described but have looked at grey filters or nd filters as well. Will try the polarisation filter and see if I like it. So it is tricky? will try.
Let me know how it goes. Best, Tim
Oh wow… WHat a brilliant shot
Thank you. This aircraft deserved something special.
Such grace from this angle.
Kevin thank you. I wanted to get this aircraft from a different perspective than normal.
What a great looking aircraft, so bold looking. I’m no pilot but this looks like a very stable design. As with cars, they will never build these awesome pieces of art again.
It is quite an aircraft. Here is a link to the P-38 organization that gives a lot more on the plane. It also includes video. http://p38assn.org.
Also thanks for your comments.
Great site, thanks!
Great shot, Tim.
Bill, thank you.
Thank you so much.
Very eerie, unusual, but brilliant photo!
Thank you Jeroen. I decided to add a solarized filter. I thought it gave the image more punch.
This aircraft was an incredible weapon. Great picture!
Dennis, very true. You may find http://p38assn.org interesting.
Beautifully framed. I love the symmetry.
Thank you for your generous complements. Also thank you for looking at my blog and liking a number of the images..
