Much prefer the black and white. Seems to have a lot more punch from the extreme dark parts of the sky against the almost hoarfrost appearance of the trees and ground.

The B&W is nice, almost infrared and interesting lines. But these colors are so unique! Not only for the season, but colors also differ so much per location. That’s what makes the color version more interesting for me. Beautiful.

Even though the sky in the black and white is unrealistically (surrealistically?) dark, I prefer it to the coloured version, which, I find to be too purply/blue both in the sky and in the tint of the leaves. That having been said, I love the cropping and the lines of clouds, road, and fence.

Thank you for your detailed comments. A member of the photo club I belong to also mentioned the color of the sky. One of the challenges is calibrating my laptop to my 24″ monitor.

Both are gorgeous, but although most of the time I prefer BW, in this case I like the color the best, mainly because of the tonality of the sky.

I also prefer the B&W simply for the drama. The perspective is unique and draws my eyes slowly around the photo in the color, but in the B&W, my eyes are in a more chaotic mood and I like that. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for your detailed comments. I often hear from judges that images need to have a focus. However, as you pointed out, one of the strong points of the b&w is its ability to move your eye around. It is more than a single view. Thanks again.

Nice work, it’s a slight optical illusion to me… I can’t tell if it’s perspective which changes the trees height or if they are decreasing in height.
