Well, I loved the b & w. Then I saw the color. The yellow light against the blue is really beautiful. This is difficult. It would have been a lot easier if you hadn’t posted both. I think I’ll go for the b & w, though. By a hair!

This has been a on-going debate for a long time. Which is better B & W or Color? For me I tend to lean to the color Images more than B & W. However, B&W does have it’s place. It depends on the subject you are shooting. When I’m out there taking Images of old structures of History I seem to lean to B&W. Sometimes it’s hard to choose which one to convert over. B&W shows you only 2 colors, where-as the color one can give you a much bigger array of the spectrum. Thanks for liking my Post.

Hi. I think it depends what you want people to see first. In the black and white, my eye went straight to the white boat on the left, then to that crazy sky. In the colour shot, my eye goes to the two orange lights first, then up to the beautiful blue sky, then back to the lights, then over to the white boat, then back to the orange lights. All of this happens in the first few milli-seconds. Both nice shots though. Ps, thank you for liking my photo of the week.

Extremely close call but I’m going to say the colour variant. The yellow contrasting with the auguamarines makes it stand out just slightly more. Both are gorgeous shots regardless.

At first I preferred the b/w for the drama in the clouds. On looking deeper, I am drawn to the blues and greys and that golden light on the water.
They are both affecting in their individual ways.

I prefer the B&W. Did you take 2 photos (one in B&W and another in colour)? Or, did you change from colour to B&W with a post-processing tool?

Thank you for you comment. There were many color images taken but I used only one for both color and b&w. I used NIK Color Efec Pro 4 in post-processing. I also use Lightroom CC.Also thank you for taking the time to look around my blog.

No problem. I thought you may have converted from a colour image. I don’t ever use post-processing to convert, just for a little contrast, straightening, dust removal (as I still also take B&W film), and cropping occasionally. I’m one of those painful purists and only use post-processing in the same capacity as printing in my darkroom.

It is great that many of the b&w film is still being made. It give photographers more choices. Best with all of your photographic endeavors.

I have a great love of black & white but in this case the yellow of the lights and the blue of the sky tip me in favor of the color. Each is beautiful in its own way, though.
