Yes They might get half a dozen up there.
I was in Nepal and would take a mini bus to a plant. The mini bus designed for 7 max. I got used to having a dozen or more in there. Many had to get out when I reached my stop. You banged on the underside of the roof when you wanted to stop.
Thank you, Jim. The breakdown is a possibility. Some people on the truck may have owned the bikes. Although on a much smaller scale, this reminds me of the busses in Nepal where many are riding on top of the bus.

Fortunately, just in case of a breakdown, they also carry some bicycles. Great shot.
