Yes, I was very close. So close that I could feel the intensity of the fire. I had to back not because someone was telling me to but because of the heat. I was wrong about the jewelry, it appears to be paper and not real.
As a westerner and used to some form of crowd control, it was quite an exciting experience to not be limited. The only time I saw and experienced crowd control was when the bull and tower were being moved down the street and there was a risk of the viewers being trampled by the those carrying the two objects.
This is the last in the series on the royal cremation. I’ve enjoyed sharing these images from an experience that is very unique for me. My hope is that I’ve not bored you and everyone else. Tomorrow I’ll be posting images from Keelung, Taiwan.
Wow! You appear to be fairly close. Impressive. Still think it is too bad something like this gets burned up.
