What a mess it must have been there. Fires and mudslides and earthquakes. And still I’d live in California if I could afford it.

It was a mess. The air quality was extremely poor. California can be beautiful. However, I really like the southwest. I’m not sure I’d want to live there but….

Yes, I’m a bit worried about the reaction this image will receive locally. It is entered in the local camera club’s monthly competition. These fires caused a huge amount of destruction and personal loss. It was my first series of photos taken in Fountaingrove since the fires. I’d shot up there a lot before.
I think this image has some beauty that hopefully will offset the depicted destruction.
