This is a great photo Tim. Beautiful portrait. Should be on the cover of an avian or outdoor journal. Well done.

Rawls, thank you. This bird seemed to enjoy posing. It kept shifting positions allowing me to take its best sides.
Welcome back from your journey.

I always like cormorants when they put their wings out to dry. Interesting that buzzards do the same thing on a damp morning. They have to dry off before they can fly. But they look a little scary, Alfred Hitchcock-like. –Curt

Curt, they are interesting birds.
We live near where Hitchcook made the movie The Birds. I don’t remember the movie well but I don’t think Cormorants were in it.
I’m working on my SmugMug site and I’m looking for a few people to test run it before if goes live. I tried finding a contact for you in your WordPress Blog to no avail. If you’re interested, you can reach me through my contact on my WordPress blog at allentimphotos2.wordpress.com Go to Contact. Thanks, Tim

I’ve hung out a lot at Bodega Bay over the years. And no, I don’t think that there were any cormorants in “The Birds.” –Curt
