Thank you John. I set my camera on bulb and opened the shutter. I would cover the lens with my hat to break up the explosions. Plus I purposely was jiggling the camera a small amount. Thus the squiggly lines.

I tried going from unfocused to focused to create a more flower bud style. I could not pull it off. Too many things to do at once.
Instead I went back to a tried method with a modification. I was using Trigger Trap in my iPhone and had the phone attached to my camera. Every time I touched the open and shut shutter button on my iPhone it jiggled the camera. I was also using my hat to cover the lens so I could get multiple fireworks explosions in one image. Thus the wiggles and overlapping fireworks. It turned out better than expected.

I had fun playing with the camera and getting a little crazy putting my hat over the lens. I hope you got some photographs. The fog seems to be a problem with getting the fireworks in San Francisco.
