Making SMALL Nests

This is a group of participants making small nests with willow branches for the public art project of Jane Ingram Allen in the Commons at Point Reyes Station, CA. The small nests will also be decorated with handmade paper feathers containing seeds in the paper pulp to feel the birds. The nests will be installed in trees along Route One in Point Reyes Station. The public art project “For the Birds” is sponsored by Gallery Route One and Lucid Art Foundation.

This big nest is made with willow branches gathered locally and is big enough for people to go inside. The nest is part of Jane Ingram Allen’s public art project “For the Birds” sponsored by Gallery Route One and Lucid Art Foundation.

This is some of the handmade paper feathers drying. The feathers will be used in Jane Ingram Allen’s public art project in the Commons at Point Reyes Station, CA. The feathers are made with pulp from local leaves and bark and the pulp contains seeds to feed the birds. The project is sponsored by Gallery Route One and Lucid Art Foundation.

Jane Ingram Allen is building a big nest for the “For the Birds” public art project in the Commons at Point Reyes Station, CA. The nest is made with willow branches and other vegetation gathered in the Point Reyes area. People will be able to go inside this nest, and it will be decorated with handmade paper feathers created by participants. The feathers will have seeds to feed the birds in the paper pulp. Willow bark is also one of the materials used to make the paper for this project. The project is sponsored by Gallery Route One and Lucid Art Foundation.
