Finished Large Nest & Ready for Feathers

The large nest is now ready for participants to put handmade paper feathers onto the branches of the nest. The nest is part of Jane’s public art project “For the Birds”, and it will be lined with handmade paper feathers containing seeds to feed the birds in the pulp. Smaller nests with handmade paper feathers will be sited in trees along Route One in Point Reyes Station. This project is sponsored by Gallery Route One and Lucid Art Foundation.

Jane Ingram Allen, Sue DeDina and Lynn Roth are working together to put the finishing touches on the large nest in the Commons, Point Reyes Station, CA. The nest is part of Jane’s public art project “For the Birds”, and it will be lined with handmade paper feathers containing seeds to feed the birds in the pulp. Lynn is one of the key volunteers for Jane Ingram Allen’s “For the Birds” project. She has assisted in working with the children at West Marin School. This includes building small nests, and making handmade paper feathers and even bringing some weeping willow branches from Santa Rosa!. The project has taken place at West Marin School and at the Commons in Point Reyes Station, CA. A large nest in the Commons will be decorated with the handmade paper feathers on Sunday, September 22, 2013, 1-4 PM. Also, feathered nests will be installed in trees along Route One in Point Reyes Station. The public art project “For the Birds” is sponsored by Gallery Route One and Lucid Art Foundation.
