Hanging Feathers

Hanging Feathers

The large nest got decorated with many handmade paper feathers. People attached them to the large nest in the Commons and to small nests that will be sited in trees along Route One in Point Reyes Station. The small nests are also created by the students during Jane Ingram Allen’s 3-week artist in residency public art project in Pt. Reyes. The project “For the Birds” is sponsored by Gallery Route One, Pt. Reyes Station, CA and the Lucid Art Foundation.

Writing on the Feathers

Writing on the Feathers

Many people participated in writing best wishes, prayers, and sayings on the paper feathers. The feathers were then attached to the large nest in the Commons and to small nests that will be sited in trees along Route One in Point Reyes Station. The small nests are also created by the students during Jane Ingram Allen’s 3-week artist in residency public art project in Pt. Reyes. The project “For the Birds” is sponsored by Gallery Route One, Pt. Reyes Station, CA and the Lucid Art Foundation.

Dedication

Dedication

This was the day when the paper feathers were placed on the large nest. Following this there was a dedication with two performing artists and participants. The large nest is in the Commons and small nests will be sited in trees along Route One in Point Reyes Station. The small nests are also created by the students during Jane Ingram Allen’s 3-week artist in residency public art project in Pt. Reyes. Ready to Hang

Ready to Hang

After completing the making of paper feathers they need to be hung up to dry. The feathers when dried will be attached to the large nest in the Commons and to small nests that will be sited in trees along Route One in Point Reyes Station. The small nests are also created by the students during Jane Ingram Allen’s 3-week artist in residency public art project in Pt. Reyes. The project “For the Birds” is sponsored by Gallery Route One, Pt. Reyes Station, CA and the Lucid Art Foundation.

Two Sisters Making Paper

While it was raining this morning we still had a few visitors who made paper feathers. The feathers will be attached to the large nest in the Commons and to small nests that will be sited in trees along Route One in Point Reyes Station. The small nests are also created by the students during Jane Ingram Allen’s 3-week artist in residency public art project in Pt. Reyes.
