This is a picture of Jane Ingram Allen’s hands as she is constructing a nest from olive branches in Point Reyes Station, California. The nest when finished will be dipped in handmade paper, and the paper pulp is made from local plant materials and has seeds to feed the birds in the pulp. The finished nest will be decorated with handmade paper feathers created with children in West Marin Elementary School. This nest and others created during Jane’s 3-week residency in Pt. Reyes will be used in a project “For the Birds” sponsored by Gallery Route One, Pt. Reyes Station, CA.
